There are few products that Carling Technologies hasn't turned "ON" and fewer industries that haven't turned to Carling for solutions. With ISO9001 and IATF 16949 registered manufacturing facilities and technical sales offices worldwide, Carling ranks among the world's largest manufacturers of switches; controls; electronic switching; circuit protection; and power monitoring and distribution units.
Carling Technologies is proud to celebrate 100 years of innovation and continues to support its current position as a worldwide leading manufacturer.
Carling Tool and Machine Company | In 1920, Arthur Carling, a skilled tool maker, founded Carling Tool and Machine Company in Hartford, CT which designed and built many tools, dies and specialty machinery.
Carling Electric, Inc. | From 1943 to 1973, the emerging electrical industry was fast advancing and Carling’s product offering had grown to meet the new market needs. Most notably, in 1940, Carling started to manufacturer its first line of switches, the toggle series. In 1969, Carling began manufacturing in Matamoros, MX and also incorporated its European subsidiary in the UK. In 1971, Carling founded another manufacturing facility in Brownsville, TX.
Carlingswitch, Inc. | The Carling product portfolio of switches greatly expanded in the late 1900s. The addition of the Curvette and Contura® rocker switch lines helped the Carling brand become recognized worldwide for quality and durability, leading to a natural rebranding of the company to Carlingswitch.
In 1978, Carling saw an easy product fit in the marketplace and expanded its capabilities into circuit protection. In 1987, the company moved to Plainville, CT, which is its corporate headquarters. To further serve its worldwide customers, Carling founded the Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong in 1994.
Carling Technologies, Inc. | As Carling’s served markets demanded enhanced switching, circuit protection and control products, the company continued its commitment to innovate and meet these needs and rebranded to a name reflective of its advanced electrical and electronic capabilities: Carling Technologies, Inc. Over the last two decades, Carling has grown by establishing a manufacturing plant in China, as well as making two complementary acquisitions to grow the product portfolio and partnering with a company in India to support its worldwide customers.
